Job Description SummaryThe Additive Materials and Process Analytics Engineer will be responsible for the application of data analytics to control and improve raw materials, manufacturing operations, and materials processing outcomes that in turn impact part quality for the development of aircraft engine components.

You will partner with subject matter experts to proactively solve manufacturing readiness challenges: including and not limited to statistical methods, machine learning, data systems, and data workflows. In this role, you will work in a cross-functional team consisting of materials, manufacturing, design, and information technologists to impact component producibility as well as process maturation and industrialization.

Job DescriptionEssential Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams in the application of data analytics to characterize and improve materials, process, and manufacturing methods

  • Own data and analysis roadmaps supporting critical technologies to create robust material and process systems that achieve SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost).

  • Establish with guidance a digital thread for new manufacturing methods in collaboration with cross-functional partners

  • Work in a cross-functional and diverse team of Design Engineers, Materials and Process Engineers, Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, and the Digital Thread team.

  • Lead statistical analysis and application of data science of large material and manufacturing data sets to identify key process characteristics and solve problems.

  • Remain aware of the state of the art in own technical specialty to anticipate, apply, adapt or develop technologies for product introduction, quality, performance, cost improvements and problem resolution in meeting current and future business needs including adherence to schedules and estimated costs

  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers, including travel to suppliers or customers as needed; Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with policies and procedures

  • Formulate and implement plans with guidance to achieve technical and program requirements, schedules and contract commitments

  • Uses judgment and technical expertise to formulate and implement plans, make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems; Takes new perspective on existing solutions.

  • Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations.

  • Become versed in Assisted Defect Recognition, In-Process Monitoring, and Digital Metrology tools.  Creating systems and data environments that collate large datasets and promote efficient data analysis methods.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering or data science from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

  • Ability to work in-person >75 of the time with ability to travel between local sites

  • US Citizen or permanent resident

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. 

  • Masters degree in engineering or data science from an accredited university or college with at least 3 years of relevant experience

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
