Job Description SummaryThe Lead Product Engineer will be responsible for product quality review, process improvement, and other associated tasks for the T700 and CT7 programs in Lynn Engine Assembly.

The role impacts departmental operations and is responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ownership includes both quality assurance and quality control in the assembly process
  • Includes quality assurance of products, services, and manufacturing processes
  • Develops new solutions/process improvements under guidance and/or in a team setting to help the business meet its objectives (Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost)
  • Works on cross functional teams; delivers products as part of a team
  • Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance
  • Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks
  • Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems
  • May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions
  • Works together with business leadership

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in manufacturing or quality)
  • Minimum of 3 additional years of experience in manufacturing OR GE OMLP Graduate

Desired Characteristics

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • Direct experience with turboshaft engines
  • Direct experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and troubleshoot blue print drawings
  • Six Sigma or equivalent Quality training
  • Experience utilizing lean tools such as: Daily Management, standard work, Kaizen, 5S, 5 why and problem solving reports (A3)
  • Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact
  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to influence others and lead small teams.
  • Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn
