Position Overview :

Boeing India Engineering has an immediate opening for a Lead System Design and Analysis Engineer (Airplane Systems ) to work on the Airplane Systems team which includes electronic products like Displays, Radios and Flight Deck. This role offers a unique opportunity to tackle complex technical challenges in Avionics system design and development for aircraft systems.

This role will be based out of Bengaluru, India.

Position Responsibilities :

  • Define system requirements, design, and architecture to meet stakeholder needs and regulatory standards.
  • Perform system safety assessment activities and provide evidence in compliance with ARP 4761.
  • Conduct and support stage gate reviews such as System Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), etc.
  • Work collaboratively and respectfully with cross-functional teams to define requirements, interfaces, and program planning.
  • Plan and conduct verification activities including software/hardware integration and functional testing.
  • Assist in the creation of certification artifacts as per ARP 4754 guidelines.
  •  Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and coaching to team members to foster growth and ensure quality.
  • Develop detailed plans and estimates for product development activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
  • Manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and communicate clearly with team members and stakeholders.
  • Take ownership of on-time delivery and quality of work products from the team.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience) :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Aerospace, or related field) or higher.
  • 13+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test within Aerospace domains or Safety-Critical system.
  • Proficient in Cockpit Displaysand Flight Deck Design.
  • Extensive experience in design, development, integration, and certification Avionics Products especially Displays
  • Expertise in ARP4754, ARP4761, standards

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience) :

  • INCOSE certification on Systems Engineering is an added advantage
  • Proficient in developing, reviewing, and approving comprehensive system planning documents - Aspects of Certification, Development Plan, Verification Plan, Process Assurance Plan, Configuration Management Plan, Qualification Test Plan, and Certification Plan.
  • Good Understanding of DO254, DO178C, DO160 standards.
  • Ability to author and review safety assessments (FHA, FDAL, SSA) certification artifacts, and test plans.
  • Experience in test planning, setup, test development, execution, conducting tests in a lab, production environment and environmental qualification testing.
  • Experience leading Program Gate Reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR).
  • Expertise on Requirements Management tools like IBM Rational DOORS is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Typical Education & Experience:

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelors and 13 or more years experience, Masters degree with 12 or more years experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering.
