Job Description:
Located in Northern California, the team at Joby Aviation is driven by our goal of creating an affordable, all-electric air transportation system. Imagine a piloted air taxi that takes off vertically, then quietly carries you and your fellow passengers over the congested city streets below, enabling you to spend more time with the people and places that matter most. Since 2009, our team has worked steadily to make this dream a reality. We’ve designed and tested many generations of prototype aircraft capable of serving in a network of electric air taxis. We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onwards toward certifying the Joby aircraft with the Federal Aviation Administration, scaling our manufacturing, and preparing to launch commercial service in 2025.

Joby Aviation is seeking a highly organized and passionate individual to join our Testing Team as the Energy Storage and Distribution System (ESDS) Testing Lead. This role will focus on guiding the testing efforts on the airborne electronics hardware that makes up our Energy Storage and Distribution System. These include hardware such as battery module, vent assembly, Battery Control and Distribution Module (BCDM), high voltage manual disconnect Switches, Charge port and Pump Assembly, and ancillary components.

As the ESDS Testing Lead you will support the Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) responsible for the aforementioned hardware. This will include testing starting at the development phase, all the way through the certification phase. To do this you will need to understand testing needs, develop custom test capabilities, mentor and motivate Test Engineers who will own the preparation for the tests, execute tests, perform data analysis on the test data, and participate in the root causing efforts for failures encountered. We are looking to expand this team with individuals looking to make a mark in the transportation industry.
