Boeing Defense Space and Security is currently looking for motivated, talented Structural Dynamics and Loads Engineer to join the Direct Attack Dynamics and Loads team, part of Precision Engagement Systems (PES), located in St. Charles, MO.
The Direct Attack Direct Attack Dynamics and Loads Team is a dynamic and growing team with leadership that is focused on attracting and developing top talent in support of critical missions on Direct Attack (DA) programs. Connected to our customers’ missions, we deliver unique capabilities through our exceptional talent. The programs we support in St. Charles, MO include JDAM, SDB, MOP, HAAWC, B61TKA and associated derivatives utilized on various military aircraft, some ground-based platforms, and other future contract awards.
In this position, you will lead several less experienced engineers to increase their skill levels. In addition, you will perform various structural analysis and support various testing both in St. Louis area and at other locations. You will support various design methods to provide engineering requirements to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
Position Responsibilities:
Oversees, reviews and conducts complex loads and dynamics analyses and tests for new and derivative vehicles.
Oversees and builds new and improved mathematical models.
Plans and organizes loads and dynamics analysis work at the program level to ensure compliance with vehicle integrity and stability requirements to establish system design.
Develops, integrates and documents complex or unique vehicle requirements to establish the system design.
Serves as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and programs.
Advises management and customers on advanced technical research studies.
Defines development requirements for analytical tools and models used to guide product design and verifies that the flight vehicle integrates and demonstrates compliance to internal and external specifications and requirements.
Works with customers and regulatory agencies to define certification processes to meet requirements.
Reviews and approves certification results.
Oversees development and execution of tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
Defines and organizes test programs for compliance with customer and regulatory agency requirements.
Develops new standards or new means of compliance.
Oversees the development of new analytical process and tools.
Leads the improvement of existing technologies, tools and processes to enhance technology readiness, improve vehicle performance, reduce cycle time and cost.
Investigates emerging technologies to develop future product designs and meet projected requirements.
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
9 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years related work experience, Master+7 years related work experience)
14 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years related work experience, Master+12 years related work experience)
9+ or more years’ engineering experience in the field of Dynamics & Loads
Ability to travel up to 20 of the time both domestically and internationally
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and/or Astrodynamics Engineering.
Master of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Astrodynamics Engineering, and/or Engineering Management.
Experience leading an engineering team as a Technical Lead Engineer (TLE), LX, etc.
Active US Secret Clearance

Leadership skills to lead and influence positive outcomes.

Summary pay range, level 4: $115,600 - $156,400
Summary pay range, level 5: $136,850 - $185,150
