As a Parker Hannifin co-op student in the Madison, MS facility, you will be a valued member of the Value Stream production team. Under supervision of a Manufacturing Engineer and/or a Value Stream Manager, you will be assigned tasks and activities designed to improve the manufacturing capability of the Madison facility. These assignments will be varied in nature. However, duties can be categorized as follows:
* Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods.
* Assist in lean cell design and related duties, including time study analysis and methods development.
* Develop layout concepts for improved process flow.
* Perform basic mechanical design (fixtures, work aids, tooling, gages, racks, etc). Auto Cad experience useful, but we can teach you the basics.
* Develop visual routing sheets (process worksheets).
* Perform spreadsheet analysis using Excel or Lotus 123.
* Serve on various teams as needed to insure continuous improvement in all areas of manufacturing.
* Interact with staff and associate employees to develop optimal processes to serve needs of key customers.
* Assist with design and construction of new tools and equipment.
* Identify and address safety concerns.
We recruit primarily Industrial Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering students.
