Role Summary
* Defines requirements for materials, parts, tools, equipment, and processes used in the engineering design, manufacture, and maintenance of products. Leads the development, validation, and qualification of new materials, parts, processes, and technologies to meet requirements. Manages test and audit programs to qualify suppliers and ensures compliance with contractual, regulatory, and industry standards. Works under minimal supervision in a non-managerial, non-leadership role. Education & Job Requirements
* You must have
* Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, physics, or chemistry.
* Five or more years of engineering experience.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills. Preferred Skills
* You will have
* Five or more years of hands-on experience in NDE/NDT engineering in a regulated industry (e.g., aerospace, defense, energy).
* Experience with nondestructive evaluation processes such as ultrasonic testing, radiography, eddy current testing, and penetrant inspection.
* Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams with technical and non-technical customers.
* Strong understanding of materials behavior, stress analysis, and fracture mechanics.
* Experience with project management tools.
* Excellent time management skills to manage several simultaneous projects effectively and across various geographical locations. Job Duties & Functions
* You will be able
* Apply nondestructive evaluation (NDE) methods such as acoustic, electromagnetic, thermal, optical, and radiologic principles to develop new and novel methods/approaches to address affordability and supportability objectives.
* Define requirements for tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes used in engineering design, manufacture, and maintenance of products and approve their use.
* Lead development of specifications and other documents to manage deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes.
* Lead development, validation, and qualification of new tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes to meet requirements.
* Manage test and audit programs to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements.
* Use project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements.
* Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and customer requirements (ASNT, ASTM, AWS, ASME, ISO, etc.).
* Support audits, root cause analyses, and failure investigations as a subject matter expert.
* Assist the Team Lead by defining strategies and providing consultation.
