Position Overview
As a Manufacturing Engineer V, you will provide senior technical leadership across manufacturing programs, shaping how complex aerospace products are built, scaled, and sustained. You will drive improvements in throughput, cost, quality, and production readiness while guiding long-term investments in automation, tooling, and digital manufacturing.
This role emphasizes strategic influence, system thinking, and leadership across engineering, quality, supply chain, and production organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for manufacturing process development, qualification, and sustainment across multiple programs
- Define and implement enterprise manufacturing strategies including automation, lean manufacturing, DFMA, and digital thread
- Lead production readiness planning, risk identification, mitigation strategies, and readiness metrics for program ramp-ups
- Develop business cases and justify investments in tooling, capital equipment, automation, and workstations
- Establish standardized, scalable, and repeatable manufacturing processes and best practices
- Lead complex problem solving and continuous improvement using root cause analysis and Six Sigma methodologies
- Integrate manufacturing early into design and program decisions; represent manufacturing in technical and program reviews
- Mentor engineers and provide technical oversight, including review and approval of engineering deliverables and process documentation
- Apply data analytics, simulation, and model-based methods for capacity planning and flow optimization
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver on schedule and within budget
