What You Will Do:

Columbus Forge Blades is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer, New Product Development  to join our Manufacturing Engineering Team to support the implementation of manufacturing standards and best practices. The Manufacturing Engineer, New Product Development will work cross-functionally with the hourly work force (to include tool designers, quality assurance, Integrated Product Teams, systems designers, Information Systems, and program assembly partners).

  • Identify and implement shop floor process optimization and control methods to eliminate/prevent QCPC turn backs /escapes and reduce overall assembly costs

  • Responsible for PFMEA and Control Plan creation

  • Develop process for new product introductions and development parts and collaborate with design engineering and IPT

  • Track, compile, and analyze data to understand process capability for decision making and generating projects

  • Support the implementation of new capital equipment from specification and ordering through delivery, installation, and release to production.

  • Develop and maintain shop floor work instructions (including specifications, engineering changes, QAD/process control, and tooling definition/requirements.)

  • Work to eliminate EH&S/Ergonomics/Human Factors risks and addressing quality issues; participate in CORE/Lean manufacturing initiatives

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelors degree in a STEM field and or a minimum of 2 years experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or other closely related industrial environment

  • Working knowledge of technical or operational shop practices, policies and procedures governing manufacturing engineering support requirements

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (aerospace, manufacturing, mechanical, industrial)

  • Knowledge of the Columbus Forge Blades processes and procedures

  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, experience with Kaizen events or experience with a continuous improvement program (CORE)

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
