Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Bolton (Full-time, on-site)
Contract Length: 12Months
Security Clearance: SC required (can start on BPSS)
Rate: 35/hour Umbrella OR 26.57/hour PAYE + 3.88/hour holiday pay
Morson is currently recruiting experienced Manufacturing Engineers for our defence client based in Bolton. Key Responsibilities:

Create and update detailed Manufacturing Instructions to support efficient and cost-effective production.

Design, commission, and validate production tooling.

Support industrial validation activities, including FMEA, FAI, and related quality processes.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues arising during manufacturing.

Implement route card changes related to rework or design updates.

Manage configuration control and incorporate design modifications into manufacturing documentation.

Support the non-conformance process via SAP.
Skills & Experience Required:

Completed formal technical apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 and Level 3 ONC)
or HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline with relevant industry experience.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and develop clear build instructions for both skilled and semi-skilled operators.

Experience in electronic sub-assembly and system-level builds.

Familiarity with assembling small or miniature electro-mechanical actuation systems.

Strong communication and teamworking skills.

Customer-focused with a strong understanding of engineering procedures and standards.
