Job Description SummaryThe Manufacturing Engineering Staff Leader will ensure reliability and consistency among daily operations of the TDI plant. They will impact the team’s ability to achieve service, quality, and timeliness of objectives. There is moderate autonomy within the role, and high levels of manufacturing process and operational judgment are required to achieve strategic outcomes.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide people leadership and direction to manage manufacturing readiness for product launch and continuous improvement efforts throughout the site
  • Maintain direct ownership of cost out pipeline/execution, Lean, MRL, and P&E planning
  • Interface with Quality team on manufacturing readiness
  • Define and control production process including tooling and equipment
  • Develop annual manufacturing engineering strategy
  • Use high levels of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operations, product management, manufacturing, technology, and/or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information provided and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters, including constructing and providing recommendations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 9 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering and/or Quality Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering and/or Quality Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience leading people

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience leading salaried and technical employees
  • Aviation/Aerospace industry experience
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing deployment
  • Experience collaborating and influencing across a matrix environment

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
