Job Description:

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer Technical Shop Floor Support III to join our ME A320 department based in Mobile, AL.

Responsible for the manufacturing assessment of non-conformities, late changes to support production, and supporting and identifying continuous improvement opportunities for the manufacturing process. Responds to technical questions and explains work orders/drawings, especially for aircraft mechanical related items. Establishes and maintains effective communications with FAL production and serves as interface to the onsite back office for work order adaptation.

Your challenges:
  • Act as expert in all processes and activities related to METSFS organization.
  • Provide guidance and training to the members of the METSFS team.
  • Handle Non-conformities within assigned area (Cabin, Systems, Electrics, or Structures by Station), create specific work orders for FAL rework, establish/verify the technical content of non-conformities, and validate documentation.
  • Provide technical support for production on all issues including oversight of directed changes.
  • Initiate availability of replacement parts and tooling required for work and rework activities.
  • Manage continuous improvement measures with reoccurring non-conformities in collaboration with quality.
  • Support improvement and efficiency projects for FAL and ME department.
  • Exchange information with local and European colleagues.
  • Participate as an active team member to support ME activities in the FAL.
  • Responsible for incorporating implicit knowledge into rework instructions to ensure accurate information is provided to production for manufacturing activities.
  • Serves as a focal point for complex topics and applies knowledge and problem solving to resolve issues.
  • Creates and updates KPIs for team on assigned projects.
  • Make decisions on technical and scheduling/priority questions with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Communicates with European colleagues at other manufacturing sites for guidance on repeat or complex issues.
  • Provides training and guidance to new team members.
  • Acts as representative and leader for METSFS in projects and meetings as required.
  • Perform Other Duties As Assigned.
Your boarding pass:
  • Minimum 6 years of experience with Airbus, or a sub-contractor on behalf of Airbus in METSFS role(or equivalent).
  • Required: Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous participation and/or the ability to successfully pass the following Airbus Courses:
  • Airbus GenFam (General Familiarization)
  • Airbus SA Familiarization (EL01)
  • Airbus Production Rules 80T
  • Corporate Presentation Skills
  • Occupational Health and Safety
  • Knowledge Airbus-Tools (TiCon, Zamiz, TAKSY, DocMaster)
  • Knowledge of common applications such as SAP/R3 (Module PP/PM)
