Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a full-time Early Career Low Observable (LO) Materials & Process Engineer. In this role, you will apply materials engineering and electromagnetic principles to enable research and development and manufacturing of advanced LO materials and its associated processes to be used on platforms. LO M&P tasks include:
• Development of innovative material measurement techniques for demanding environments
• Conduct research and development efforts associated with Low Observable, (LO) materials and its integration
• Closely collaborate with our tightly integrated multi-disciplinary Advanced Development Program (ADP) Teams.
• Interface with suppliers regarding technical issues concerning material characterization, raw composite materials, parts fabrication, new materials/processes, and/or review of manufacturing plans
The candidate must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, time-management, and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate must demonstrate effective communication skills as the position will require frequent internal interactions across engineering disciplines and coordinating across teams. Experiences in development testing and product acceptance is a plus.
Must be a US Citizen.; This position will require a government security clearance.; This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering or Physics highly preferred
• Strong understanding and application of electromagnetic principles
• Knowledge of fabrication and rapid prototyping principles
Desired Skills:
• Strong understanding and application of electromagnetic principles
• Experience with electrical and mechanical material characterization techniques
• Understanding of rapid prototyping and fabrication techniques
• Project planning and project management experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication/interpersonal skills
• Experience preparing and deliver technical presentations to senior management and external customers

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $55,300 - $106,000 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $63,600 - $119,800. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
