Job Description:

SUMMARY The Operations Engineer role at AAR seeks to liaise between the aircraft manufacturer and our technicians to solve technical issues. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Efficiently coordinates activities to evaluate and resolve engineering-related production problems encountered in assigned areas of aircraft. Reviews production schedules, engineering specifications, orders and related information to maintain current knowledge of repair methods, procedures and activities in assigned area. Effectively confers with quality control and other department personnel to provide technical support. Effectively interprets engineering drawings and facilitates correction of errors on drawings and documents identified during manufacturing operations. Effectively investigates reports of defective, damaged parts, assemblies, equipment or systems to determine nature and scope of problem. Effectively examines, measures, inspects or tests defective parts for conformance to engineering design drawings or blueprint specifications, using precision measuring and testing instruments, devices and equipment. Efficiently evaluates findings to formulate correction action plan and coordinates implementation of plan. Efficiently maintains records or oversees recording of information by others to ensure engineering drawings and documents are current and that engineering-related production problems and resolutions are documented. All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability required. Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in standard English. Able to interface in a professional and pleasant manner with other AAR employees at all levels and with customers as required. Computer literacy, particularly in those software programs which are relevant to industrial engineering. EDUCATION and or EXPERIENCE B.S. in Mechanical Engineering required (or other related Engineering degree) Minimum of two years experience as an engineer.
