Schedule: Monday to Friday; First Shift 7AM-4PM ( flexible start time between 7-9am)
Pay Rate: $60.00 to $$70.00 per hour
The Role & Its ImpactAs a Mechanical System Design Engineer, you will play a key role in developing, analyzing, and documenting mechanical system designs from concept through production. Your expertise will help ensure systems meet rigorous aerospace requirements while supporting suppliers and internal teams to achieve program goals on time and to specification.
Position Details
What You’ll Do Day to DayDevelop and document mechanical, fluid system, and thermal environment requirements to establish system designs
Create, maintain, and modify system, component, and installation designs and proposals
Perform and document engineering analyses to validate and verify system and component performance against requirements
Develop mechanical system component detail and assembly designs
Document processes, specifications, and procedures supporting the design and manufacture of system parts and assemblies
Participate in technical reviews of supplier designs and non-conformances
Analyze test and design results and support formal design reviews
Collaborate with suppliers during development, testing, and production to optimize integration and meet program objectives
Provide installation and detailed design documentation to downstream teams
Support design standards and best practices while mentoring and training junior engineers
Work under general direction on complex technical assignments
Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree with typically 5+ years of engineering experience
or Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience
or PhD with relevant engineering experience
6–10 years of experience in mechanical systems or aerospace engineering
Strong mechanical system design experience
Proficiency in CATIA
Experience with requirements development and requirements management tools
Working knowledge of System Safety Analysis
Experience using DOORS or similar requirements management systems
Strong analytical, documentation, and technical communication skills
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.

Experience supporting supplier development and integration activities
Background in fluid systems or thermal environments

Pay Details: $60.00 to $70.00 per hour
