Job Description:

Barnes Motion Control Solutions SBU has an exciting and challenging career opportunity for a Mechatronics Engineer in our Brecksville location. The ideal candidate is innovative, and deadline driven. The mechatronics engineers responsibilities will include improving existing mechanical systems, developing new product concepts and prototypes, designing, and testing mechanical and electronic systems, and developing various automated systems.

Core Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing, and enhancing electro-mechanical systems and mechatronic devices.
  • Creating automated systems and the software to control them.
  • Conducting research, documenting findings, and presenting reports at meetings.
  • Developing design documents for mechanical parts and final products.
  • Identifying areas of weakness in the production line or finished products and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Understanding problems or client briefs and developing solutions that satisfy them.
  • In charge of interfacing and driving our design consultants.
  • Specify technology and help plan the technology roadmap
  • Selecting the required tools and materials for the manufacturing process.
  • Assisting with recruitment, onboarding, and training of junior Engineers or Apprentices.
  • Attending workshops, training sessions, and conferences to network with others and stay on top of field advancements.
  • Support developed products post-launch.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Adherence to the Barnes Code of Business Ethics and Conduct

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in engineering
  • Proven knowledge and expertise in the field of connected products an advantage.
  • Demonstrated creativity and a history of contributing to the development of new products or solutions.
  • Strong ability to clearly convey to customers complex technical ideas and results through excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical, reasoning, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a few projects concurrently, applying strong organization skills, attention to detail, and meeting established deadlines.
  • Strong ability to work effectively with others in a team environment, and work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels internally and externally to the organization.
  • Proficient at reading, analyzing and interpreting customer drawings, specifications, procedures, and standards.
  • Self-starter with a passion for engineering.
  • Proficient with computer systems, including Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, coding software.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics engineering or similar.
