As a Methods Engineer Technologist, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining precise manufacturing documentation that defines the assembly processes for our aircraft, sub-assemblies, and parts in alignment with type design specifications. You will play a key role in researching and recommending engineering changes to enhance efficiency, quality, and compliance. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Procurement, and other internal teams to address technical challenges and optimize manufacturing workflows. Your expertise will directly support seamless operations and continuous improvement across the production environment. Please Note this role is fully in office and is located in Victoria BC Key Responsibilities:Create and revise Product Structures/Routings and Work Instructions (WI) to define parts, processes, sequence and special instruction required to purchase or build a part/assemblyCreate Manufacturing Documents to define requirements and special instructions for the manufacture of parts/assemblies and sub-assembliesDefine the tools required for manufacturing or assembly of aircraft componentsCreate and revise supplemental planning documentation to fully define the build sequence of the aircraft parts, assembly and sub-assembliesRecord and submit Change Requests (CRs) for changes to build, design and tools required to improve efficiency and quality of builds including Make vs Buy decisionsAssist in Investigation of root cause of manufacturing problems and liaise with other functions to analyze potential solutions by evaluating cost, impacts and risks of a change in productionSupport in equipment acquisition and qualification processes used in manufacturingSupport in the qualification of processes and tooling within the facilityParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives including internal/external auditsAssist Planning in execution of Non-Conformance Management Tasks (i.e... Shop order instructions)Assist Area Managers in developing plans to increase efficiency including acquisition and implementation of new equipmentAssist in developing and rolling out technical skills training for manufacturing and assembly personnel to support the QMSAssist training of Production, QC and Methods Engineering and co-op personnelQualification:Combination of education and experience in aerospace and/or manufacturing will be consideredDegree or diploma in Engineering or Engineering Technology; or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience (e.g. Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, Assembler, etc.)3+ years of progressive hands-on experience in a large detail part and/or welding manufacturing environment, preferably in the aerospace industryPrevious experience in a Manufacturing Engineering, planning or Methods roleKnowledge of the fabrication and assembly of aircraft partsWorking knowledge of cost accounting and cost estimatingKnowledge of Aerospace engineering and manufacturing principles and techniquesAbility to apply sound engineering principles to operational and process design issuesAbility to read and interpret aircraft engineering drawingsAdvanced knowledge in MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Familiar with computer aided design software such as CATIA, Enovia, etc.Familiar with one or more Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software systemsAbility to manage and act on multiple projects and priorities at one timeInnovative thinking and have a good decision-making processStrong customer focus and good interpersonal skills
