The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Mid-level Display Framework Software Engineer to join the BDS Products and Capabilities team within the Enterprise Software Verticals Organization located in St. Louis, MO region. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

The Products and Capabilities teams design, develop and implement platform agnostic mission systems software solutions for tactical fighter aircraft. This position would support development of the Boeing UX Product within Products and Capabilities.

Partnering with both internal and external organizations, this team develops the underlying framework that will be used across Boeing to build displays with a common look and feel. This framework is currently being re-architected to operate in both Safety Critical and Mission Critical domains. The team also works closely with various programs to develop the displays that will be deployed on their platforms.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Design, development, and implementation of the Safety and Mission Critical components of Boeing UX in accordance with processes derived from MIL-STD-882E
  • Assist in use case and software requirements development
  • Develop and document software test cases and unit tests
  • Work with senior engineers on software architecture design and definition
  • Operate on a multi-skill agile development team that is responsible for requirements, design, development, testing, and support of advanced mission systems software solutions

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.  Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start)

To be considered for this position you will be required to complete a technical assessment as part of the selection process.  Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.

Basic Required Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Ability to obtain Final Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start)
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 3&43; years of Software Engineering experience
  • Experience with C&43;&43;, Java, and/or other Object-Oriented programming languages

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • An active U.S. Security Clearance
  • Experience working in Agile software development environment
  • Experience with modern software development tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Git)
  • Aircraft Mission Systems experience
  • Aircraft Display Development Experience
  • Experience developing software for Safety Critical applications in accordance with MIL-STD-882E or DO-178C

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master&43;3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Travel:

Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.  Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.

Summary pay range for Mid-Level: $104,550.00 - $141,450.00
