Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking a Mid-Level Equipment & Tool Engineer in North Charleston, SC. Boeing Production Engineering, an organization of over 3,000 employees, supports all aspects of Boeing Commercial Airplanes from product conception to customer support. Production Engineering (PE) designs, deploys, operates and maintains the production system that enables the build of the airplanes for The Boeing Company. PE is the hub of all activity within Boeing as we coordinate with everyone who has anything to do with the airplane including design, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers. We also establish common processes, standards and procedures that the company uses to comply with government, regulatory and competitive obligations.
Primary Responsibilities:
Supports the evaluation of program requirements, develops complex equipment and tooling solutions for the Production System.
Compiles and analyzes technical data to determine the effects on product engineering design, rate estimates, and reliability for equipment and tooling.
Ensures compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.
Develops tooling usage instructions and Preventative Maintenance checklists and conducts training for Production and maintenance personnel.
Validates contractual performance milestones, maintains configuration control, conducts reviews, prepares plans for production readiness, preventative maintenance, and spare parts.
Develops and implements moderately complex work-arounds and maintains configuration of hardware, software, and documentation.
Contribute to or lead Root Cause/Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts and drive results of the RCCA to production.
Assist in forecast planning of expenses to maintain reliability and producibility throughout the equipment life cycle.
Aid other engineers or technicians in troubleshooting equipment.
Assist in identifying applications of Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) and in analyzing CBM findings.
Consults with engineering and operations counterparts to ensure tool design maximizes part producibility.
Ability to occasionally work flexible hours and overtime.
