Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks a Liaison Engineer (level 3) to join the Space Launch System program at the Florida Space Station Process Facility and Vertical Assembly Building, which are facilities owned by NASA at Kennedy Space Center, FL.
Boeing works at these sites to build the largest rocket in history in the world. The project will eventually take the world to Mars.

Position Responsibilities:
Apply broad knowledge of Boeing design and engineering principles
Assess and resolve product and process issues through the product lifecycle. Develop and implement product and process improvement
Research of technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be resolved by customer and design interim and final engineering solutions. Lead development of interim and final solutions
Analyze, conduct root cause analysis, and develop dispositions for design non-conformances
Address complex nonconforming conditions and to detect deviations
Analyze reported problems for potential safety issues; recommend and manage complex resolution
Represent the engineering community in the build through postproduction environment
Ensure supplier and build partner are compliant with Boeing standards
Develop customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment
Support activities for on-site disabled product repair teams and accident investigations
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
Experience with Material Review Board / Liaison Engineering (MRB / LE) Authority (including participating in Material Review Board and Integrated Product Team activities related to aircraft structures)
Willing to work alternating shifts, holidays, and weekends to support customer’s needs
3+ years of engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Knowledge of repair concepts including repair station processes, component repair concepts, procedures, and warranty processes and contractual agreements
Production Engineering Experience on the Space Launch Systems Program
5+ years of experience in an engineering discipline
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
NASA Site Access:
This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.

Summary pay range: $103,700 - $140,300
