Boeing Global Services (BGS) Government Training Engineering (GTE) is seeking passionate, qualified Mid-level or Lead Systems Engineers for our Oklahoma City, OK location to help lead the E-7 Ground Support Segment devices into the next evolution of technological transformation. This role is a part of the Office of the Chief Engineer.  The CE office is responsible for the safety, quality, technical integrity of the E-7 ground and training devices for both the Domestic and International portfolios. The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Engineer and work directly with the engineering team and program management office to help oversee the GTE E-7 portfolio and execution efforts.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Completely understands and applies job practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts. Possesses general knowledge of other related discipline

  • Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Develops solutions that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives

  • Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions. Receives general direction for work that is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

  • Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects. Failure to obtain results, reaching erroneous decisions or making recommendations would typically result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources.

  • Interacts frequently with inter-organizational personnel and external customers. Represents the organization by providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.

  • Provides the technical leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.  This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

  • Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • 3+ years of quality experience in a Defense or Space related program (e.g. NASA, DoD, etc.)

  • Experience leading a team or project, work independently and cross functionally

  • 3+ years experience with project management in an engineering environment

  • Ability to travel 10-20 of the time

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):

  •  5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.), for which the US Government requires US Citizenship

  • 3+ years’ experience with part task trainers

  • 3+ years’ experience working with suppliers

  • 3+ years’ experience with aircraft maintenance training, quality standards, compliance or safety

  • Experience working in an AGILE environment using AGILE principals, tools, and frameworks

  • Experience in Earned Value Management

  • Experience in cross functional engineering fields

Typical Education & Experience:

Mid-level (Level 3) - Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Lead (Level 4) - Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years related work experience, Master+7 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Summary pay range:

Mid-level (Level 3): $90,950 - 123,050

Lead (Level 4): $111,350 - 1450,650
