Essential Responsibilities
Additionally, in the role of Advanced Lead Engineer – Military Preliminary Cycle Design, your responsibilities will include:
- Lead model development of concept & derivative engines.
- Prepare presentations for leadership to help shape strategy.
- Coordinate with a cross-functional team of adjacent disciplines (aero, mechanical, systems) to assess technology capability & maturity.
- Lead the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements.
- Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and / or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.
- Participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and / or tasks.
- Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.
- Mentor inexperienced team members.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited University or College.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an aerospace or mechanical engineering position.
- Current or ability to obtain and maintain US Secret Clearance required.
- Only Current Employees within the Edison Works Engineering Division will be considered.
Desired Characteristics
- Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in an aerospace or mechanical engineering position.
- Experience estimating weight, cost, and cycle design parameters early in engine development programs.
- Experience with cycle and component aero design.
- Experience with NPSS & VCESP.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to guide and influence others.
- Demonstrated process orientation in approach to work.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully work in classified environments.
- Exposure to both military and commercial engine design requirements.
- Problem analysis and resolution skills.
- Systems thinking.
