Job Description SummaryThe On Wing Support Conformance Engineering Specialist will be responsible for oversight of the shop’s integration and execution of Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, Special Procedures, and regular and unscheduled maintenance to ensure Regulatory, Customer, and OEM requirements have been satisfied. This person will be responsible for interpreting Engineering direction in terms of repair processes and working with the technicians to achieve this standard, understanding SB applicability by engine serial number, and outlining configuration implications. The OWS Powerplant Engineer is also the prime technical focal point at each of the OWS Quickturn sites, responsible for initiating DRs/CDRs and router development.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Execute with limited guidance the analysis / evaluation / creation of global OWS engine routers that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements.

  • Assist the site incorporate Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, and Special Procedures to meet model / serial number applicability and concurrency standards (configuration management).

  • Establish multiple stops points or configuration tollgates throughout the process (ex.  involve job lead, Chief Inspector, others in Configuration review at Stage 0 and Stage 3 start).

  • Provide oversight and facilitate group discussion / decision-making around configuration.

  • Participate in or lead OWS SB Incorporation Board.

  • Contribute to the design of technical systems.

  • Lead site Engine Troubleshooting and Technical Support.

  • Initiate and serve as the site’s focal for DR’s/CDR’s.

  • Engage Product Support Engineering and/or other resources to eliminate issues.

  • Work alongside OWS Powerplant Engineer to build site’s workscopes, researching applicable SBs/ADs by engine serial number.

  • Mentor others in the organization and provide configuration and other technical training.

  • Develop a process to meet customers’ maintenance record and configuration requests.

  • Lead efforts to meet request.


Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a program or project leadership role within an engineering environment

  • Familiarity with common overhaul documentation (aircraft maintenance manuals, Engines manuals, SBs, etc.)

  • Ability to apply for and obtain a security clearance
