Job Description:
Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a On-board Software Engineer (f/m) to join our Digital Payload On-Board processing department based in Toulouse, France.
You will be part of the SW development team in charge of the SW development for an Airbus Product for the Telecom Satellites. As a team member, you will be in charge of developing and validating the Software modules within computer and FPGA which will be integrated on satellite.
You will have the opportunity to interact with the product definition responsible, the development responsible and people from multiple disciplines covering all digital payload domains (signal processing, functional validation...). Some of the team members are based in Germany and in the United Kingdom.
This position requires a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
Your challenges:For each module: write the technical specifications, perform the detailed design, code and run the unit and integration tests in accordance with the applicable standards.
Define and formalize interfaces with other modules and products to ensure parallel development,
Contribute to HW/SW co-engineering activities
Participate to the definition of the development and validation strategy
Write the testing plan and the associated procedure and then run the validation test against the specification
Once complete, deliver the modules for final integration and delivery
Provide the estimation (cost, schedule) of your activities
Apply the defined processes and identify and report improvement to the process owner
This role may involve some travel for business in Europe and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
Your profile:Educated to Master degree (Bac&43;5) or equivalent in Software Engineering, Engineering, or Computer Science
Minimum 5 years of experience in software development with Linux environment (Yocto, DBus, networking…),
Knowledge in Real Time (Operating System, scheduling …) embedded systems,
Strong competencies in Programming Languages (C/C&43;&43;, Java, Python, Rust, Shell)
Experience with software development tools (Git, Jenkins, Makefile/CMake/Meson, etc.)
Knowledge of oriented object design (UML)
Ability to listen, meticulous approach, spirit of analysis and synthesis
Language Skills: advanced level in English and negotiation level in French
The following points will be considered as an asset:
Knowledge of processor architectures ARM, PowerPC or Intel
Notions about the Linux Kernel and RTOS (RTEMS, FreeRTOS, PykeOS)
Knowledge in FPGA (VHDL), SoC design
Experience with communication technologies, such as ZeroMQ, DDS, Zenoh
Experience on critical systems (and corresponding processes)
