Job Summary:
The Operational Excellence Discipline Engineer will be a technical resource for one or more F135 MRO&U (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul, & Upgrade) technical processes (e.g., assembly, balance, borescope, test). The Discipline Engineer will contribute to and maintain process PFMEA and other standard work, as applicable. The Discipline Engineer will engage with depots across the Global Depot Network (active shops include Heavy Maintenance Center in OKC, WPB, Norway, Netherlands, and Australia; upcoming shops include Japan, Jacksonville, and Finland) to baseline F135 MRO&U readiness and to develop and assist in executing improvement projects to drive depot maturity, resulting in improved quality, delivery, and financial metrics (e.g., escapes, turnaround time, overhaul hours). This role will report to the Associate Director, OpX Discipline Manager.
What You Will Do:
- Contributing to and maintaining process PFMEA(s) for discipline(s).
- Participating in site baselines across CONUS and OCONUS depots.
- Supporting new site activations for discipline(s).
- Increasing proficiency in one or more disciplines.
- Working with shop floor to identify best practices in discipline(s) for sharing across network.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- B.S. in Engineering or equivalent experience and 5+ years relevant experience or 3+ years with an advanced degree in Operations, Engineering, or related function. Experience to include advanced knowledge of one or more processes used in engine assembly and/or test in a production or overhaul environment (e.g., assembly, balance, borescope, test).
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Familiarity with engine overhaul (military or commercial).
- Familiarity with F135 engine assembly.
- Experience creating and using PFMEAs in production environment.
- Self-motivated, team player with good communication skills. Ability to focus on results and successfully manage multiple tasks/projects.
- Proven success working in a matrixed organization and/or with a third-party services provider.
- Experience engaging with shop floor operations (e.g., supervisors, mechanics)
- Certified as CORE Apprentice.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
