Responsibilities:

Manage the planning of systems utilized for optical and electromagnetism for technology R&D.
Participate in the design of opto-electronic systems that characterize the properties of electromagnetic radiation and its interaction with matter.
Perform R&D design and test as required for the evaluation of opto-electronic systems.
Develop technical reports, proposals and presentations and prepare technical briefings for customer.
Support in budget development and expense management activities of opto-electronic systems.
Support test and evaluation of opto-electronic systems.
Ensure required specifications meet planned tolerances.
Oversee technical guidance in design and development of optical products.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of Optical Engineering.
Knowledge of Opto-electronic systems and work with Electrical Engineers.
Ability to characterize the properties of electromagnetic radiation and its interaction with matter.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Detail oriented and capable of completing multiple time-sensitive tasks.
Must be able to prioritize workloads.
Must thrive in fast-paced, changing environment with minimal supervision.
Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office.
Job Requirements:
Experience and Education Requirements:

BA/BS or MA/MS degree in Optical engineering, physics, electrical engineering, mathematics, or related technical field.
3-10 years of professional experience.
Experience in Optical Engineering and/or electrical engineering with an emphasis in optics.


Physical Requirements/Working Environment:

Office environment.
Must successfully pass pre-employment drug screening; subsequent random screening per anti-drug and alcohol misuse prevention program requirements.
The contractor must have or be eligible for a TS Clearance with SCI eligibility.
All contractor personnel must be willing to take, and be able to pass, a CI Scope Polygraph Examination.


Travel:

Travel may be required and will be performed under the guidelines of Federal Travel Regulations (FTR) and/or Joint Travel Regulations, Volume II (JTR).
