The position is within Aerostack GmbH, a Joint Venture between Airbus and an automotive company, part of the Airbus strategy to accelerate Zero Emission Aircraft development and build competences and skills in the technology domain.
In order to support the R&D Team in Taufkirchen near Munich, a vacancy for a “ PEM Fuel Cell Engineer - GDL Development (d/f/m)” has arisen at Aerostack GmbH.
The job holder reports operationally and functionally to the Head of Aerostack.
Accountabilities:
The jobholder will be a member the R&D team, with the focus on MEA components development and be accountable for:
Benchmark GDL and MEA performance
Assessment of GDL properties based on stack design and performance targets
Development of GDL designs according to customer requirements
Definition of GDL specification
Correlation of GDL properties with water management
Definition of in-situ and ex-situ test protocols
In-situ and ex-situ measurements of GDLs and rigorous data analysis
Interpretation of MEA performance and lifetime test data
Design of ex-situ measurement setups for GDLs
Interface with stack design team for specifying related GDL parameters
Support modelling team with GDL data and specification
Technical focal point for suppliers in collaboration with procurement and quality teams
Qualifications
As the successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate some of the following competences & skills:
Master&39;s degree in process engineering, physics, or similar discipline
Knowledge of PEM fuel cell technology
Knowledge of thermodynamics and electrochemistry
Experience in working in a laboratory environment including safety concepts
Hands-on experience in MEA components development and manufacturing
Experience in in-situ and ex-situ characterization of fuel cell components
Pragmatic mindset and ambition in simplicity
Being self-motivated and executive on critical timelines
Having good verbal and written communication skills
English fluently, German & French are a benefit
