HQ Aero is currently recruiting for a PROPULSION FLIGHT TEST MECHANIC/ENGINEER in SAVANNAH, GA

HQ Aero is recruiting for a Mid-Level Propulsion Flight Test Mechanic/Engineer to execute propulsion statement of work on new product design, development, and integration projects in the areas of propulsion engines. The Propulsion Engineer supports the business in all aspects of the product life cycle with propulsion engineering design, analysis, testing, integration, demonstration, and certification. This position will serve as a member of a technical team of engineers in the areas of propulsion performance, installation, design and analysis, test, and qualification of flight vehicles and their propulsion components.

Responsibilities:

As a Mid-level Propulsion Flight Test Mechanic/Engineer, you will be required to:

  • Define requirements for propulsion systems, and auxiliary power systems.
  • Define, coordinate, and control the functional and physical interfaces between the propulsion system and aircraft.
  • Develop specifications and architectural and configuration concepts for associated aircraft systems to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Test propulsion sub-systems and components to meet all aircraft design and performance criteria.
  • Use various testing, analysis, modeling, and simulation tools to estimate or calculate system performance.
  • Perform certification tests for propulsion sub-systems and components.
  • Report alternative concepts for future propulsion systems to meet anticipated requirements.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a SIDA badge.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Must be able to work as a part of a team in a high-stress, fast-paced environment. 
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work with little to no guidance. Must be a highly motivated, detail-oriented, organized, with the ability to multi-task. 
  • Physical Demands: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, Position requires frequent walking, standing and/or climbing.
  • Work Environment: Aircraft maintenance in a hangar and ramp environment.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience working and testing Propulsion Systems.
  • Experience with jet engines and/or fuel system mechanical operation fundamentals. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Standard Aviation Tool Kit.
  • Criminal Background Check & Compliant to FAA Drug and Alcohol screening checks are mandatory.
