The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for Mission Systems Integration Engineers to join our Phantom Works Mission Systems Engineering team in Berkeley, MO.

Phantom Works programs develop complex, highly integrated, advanced systems, enabling future growth for Boeing and our customers. We need innovative technical leaders like you to help shape the future of military aviation by developing and integrating next generation Mission Systems capabilities as part of a very exciting and critically important new aircraft development effort (specific details of this program cannot be disclosed in this forum).

As a technical leader you will be working on a team working a wide variety of avionics technologies, such as, communications, navigation, identification, RF/IR/Electronic Warfare (EW) sensors, core processing, crew station avionics, and stores management systems. You will have the opportunity to work on next generation open-architecture model-based designs and to collaborate across multiple disciplines.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Experienced, Senior and Lead Level Mission Systems Integration Engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop electronic and electrical system requirements
  • Lead the design and integration of open architecture Mission Systems solutions; such as, Open Mission Systems (OMS), and Open Communication Standard (OCS)
  • Collaborate with customers to ensure needs, requirements, and commitments are being met
  • Develop system and subsystem models in a model-based system engineering framework
  • Analyze model, hardware, software, integration and test data for performance assessment
  • Analyze supplier performance to ensure compliance with requirements
  • Spearhead the resolution of product integration issues
  • Research advanced technologies for potential application to company business needs
  • Support cross-Boeing program mission systems interchanges for maximum leverage and reuse
  • Lead multi-discipline integration (power, weight, cooling, structure, aero, signature, operational analysis, etc) as the primary Boeing interface
  • Support proposal efforts, including authoring portion of technical volume and providing estimates of required work to accomplish scope
  • Perform test/demonstration planning and execution to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements

This position is expected to be 100 onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

                            

This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 3 or more years’ experience developing or integrating avionics or mission systems
  • (Level 4): 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • (Level 5): 10 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Typical Education/Experience: 

Experienced (Level 3)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior (Level 4)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Lead (Level 5)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years related work experience, Master+12 years related work experience).  In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range for (experienced, level 3): 96,050 – 129,950

Summary pay range for (senior, level 4): 119,850 – 162,150

Summary pay range for (lead, level 5): 143,650 – 194,350
