Plant Engineering Consultant – Drive Infrastructure Excellence in Aerospace
Location: Charleston, SC Pay: $41.56 – $51.04/hr Contract: 12 Months Full-Time Onsite
Be the Backbone of Facility Engineering EffortsPDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Plant Engineering Consultant to join a fast-paced aerospace environment in North Charleston, SC. In this pivotal role, youll support infrastructure projects that keep one of the worlds leading aerospace facilities operating efficiently and safely.

What You’ll Be DoingYou’ll serve as a critical technical liaison for Facilities Engineering, supporting everything from submittal reviews to on-site monitoring and contractor coordination. Daily responsibilities include:
Reviewing engineering drawings, schematics, and submittals for infrastructure projects
Monitoring contractor performance, ensuring compliance with baseline plans and specifications
Identifying and reporting deviations, and recommending corrective actions to project stakeholders
Responding to RFIs and providing technical packages outlining potential solutions
Supporting sustaining and maintenance projects with standards and best practices
Assisting in construction-related technical research and documentation
Escorting contractors onsite as required
Providing timely status updates and project progress reports
This position is 100 onsite with occasional travel to Orangeburg, SC, and may require occasional weekend or 3rd shift availability depending on business needs.
Qualifications You’ll NeedRequired Skills & Experience:
4+ years of relevant work experience (or a combination of education and experience)
2+ years’ experience on construction or infrastructure projects
Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specs
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Experience in a plant engineering, facilities, or maintenance role in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Knowledge of pavement repairs, grading, drainage, and stormwater systems
Experience with flightline pavements and heavy equipment anchoring
Familiarity with reviewing or creating construction submittals
Strong understanding of aerospace infrastructure standards

Pay Details: $41.56 to $51.04 per hour
