PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Power Systems Modeling Design Engineer to support a global leader in the aerospace industry. About the RoleAs part of the Electrical Sub-Systems team in Everett, WA, you will collaborate with power systems engineers and cross-functional groups to support program, system, and subsystem development. Your expertise will guide the modeling and simulation of aircraft electrical power systems—including power conversion equipment, electric machines, distribution architecture, and protection strategies—to ensure safety, reliability, and performance across critical platforms.
What You’ll DoPerform advanced modeling and simulation of aircraft power systems, including active and passive power conversion equipment, motor controllers, electric motors and generators, and distribution and protection equipment.
Conduct simulations to evaluate system power quality, identify and characterize equipment or system failure modes, and support development of robust protection strategies.
Assist with development, analysis, and documentation of complex electrical power system requirements.
Validate system and equipment requirements through simulation, test analysis, and model-based engineering techniques.
Support adjacent engineering groups with power system insights, performance evaluations, and technical decision-making.
Apply model-based design and system engineering tools to drive accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in system development.
Provide technical input for system improvements, risk mitigation strategies, and engineering best practices.
Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree with typically 5+ years of engineering experience,
OR Master’s degree with 3+ years,
OR PhD with relevant engineering experience.
Degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (ABET accreditation preferred).
Specialized experience in power systems, power electronics, or automatic controls.
Proficiency in electrical system modeling and simulation tools.
Strong foundation in power electronics, electric machines, and power distribution architectures.
Prior hands-on experience with electrical equipment system design.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred QualificationsExperience in model-based design and model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
Familiarity with aircraft electrical systems or other safety-critical power environments.
Ability to interpret, develop, and document detailed technical requirements.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Pay Rate: Starting at $56.92 per hour
