Collins Aerospace is looking for Principal Systems Engineer(P4) to lead a team of Systems engineers focused on complex product development for CNS Navigation Multi Mode Receiver. The team has responsibilities for the product life-cycle activities from Systems and Software Verification. This team works closely with product development groups that specialize Navigation Systems. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Systems engineers working on the most complex Systems in the field of GNSS
  • Verify Avionics DAL A products in CNS Domain
  • Develop common supporting tools necessary for the development/Verification.
  • Develop validation tests.
  • You will get to work with amazing architects and senior developers to create scalable, extensible, and sustainable solutions.
  • Support Drive strategic roadmap and Drive organizational development initiatives: Talent Management; Performance Management;

Preferred Qualification:

  • Masters in GNSS or GNSS Systems Engineering Experience 
  • Development of system and subsystems for GNSS - design, development and/or verification experience 
  • Knowledge of multiple GNSS constellations including GPS, Galileo, Compass, GLONASS, NAVIC, QZSS and augmentation systems such as SBAS, GBAS, GAGAN, RAIM, etc. 
  • Understanding of aerospace navigation - state estimation and positioning principles 
  • Elicitation of System Level Requirements and breakdown from customer requirements to high/low level requirements 
  • Experience in System Requirements Validation and overall Verification of the system design 
  • Elaboration of test strategies for testing GNSS and integrated systems 
  • Supporting certification and producing system level artifacts against industry guidelines/recommendations 
  • Hands-on Experience on hardware is expected (GNSS Simulators, Receivers, Spectrum Analyzers, Noise Box, Oscilloscopes, etc.) 
  • Exposure to inertial positioning systems and sensor fusion schemes for positioning and tracking is an added advantage 
  • Understanding of satellite signals, post signal processing and performance analysis 
  • Programming skills in embedded languages and scripting techniques is a plus 
  • Support in navigation system business requirements for advancing positioning systems and technologies 
  • Knowledge on GNSS Radio Frequency interference detection and mitigation including jamming and spoofing 
  • Familiarity of system aspects related to RFI detection and mitigation for positioning/navigation 
  • Understanding on Traffic Surveillance products like TCAS, Transponder and ADS-B. 
  • Strong understanding on standards DO-178 B/C, ARP-4754A, DO229, DO-385, DO-260, DO-317 
  • Strong understanding on communication protocols like A429, AFDX, A653, A615A. 
  • Good knowledge on RTOS concepts, preferably VxWorks and WindRiver. 
  • Hands on experience on embedded code development using C++
