As a Principal Controls Architect at HON IGS, you will playa pivotal role in designing and implementing control systems that drive theperformance and functionality of our products. You will work closely withcross-functional teams to develop cutting-edge controls solutions, ensuringthat our products and complex solutions meet the highest standards of qualityand reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of controls system, defining the overall architecture, data flow, and control algorithms.
  • Standardize platforms across various controls products to support unified development process.
  • Provide technical leadership to a team of engineers, guiding them in designing and implementing control solutions while ensuring best practices and industry standards are followed.
  • Collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to integrate control software seamlessly with the underlying hardware components.
  • Optimize control algorithms for efficiency and real-time performance, considering resource constraints and system limitations.
  • Incorporate simulation / emulation methodologies to expedite development lifecycle and improve quality of end solution.
  • Develop test strategy and oversee the testing and validation of control software to ensure it meets the required performance and safety standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of control system designs, algorithms, and configurations.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in control systems.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, hardware engineers, and software developers, to ensure seamless integration of control software into customer projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in designing and developing control systems in material handling industry.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, C, PHP, Python, or Java.
  • Strong knowledge of control theory, real-time systems, and algorithms.
  • Experience with embedded systems and hardware-software co-design.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
