As a Principal Systems Engineer Level 3 located in Colorado Springs, CO, you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. This position is 100 onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

The Lead will be responsible for performing a feasibility and risk reduction study for Operation Test & Training Infrastructure, inclusive of establishing a demonstration environment on T6 to enable test and training exercises, developing a notional software roadmap and schedule, and managing/ supporting exercise event(s) leveraging GSSE.

This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

Your Role and Impact:

• The lead will work closely with customers to assess the scope of potential software interfaces and simulation message exchange between T6 and the external interface(s).
• This role is external facing with management and customer interaction, and the lead will serve as the primary point of contact with the customer and mission partners to report integration status, technical challenges/ issues, and interface exchange. Strong presentation and communication skills are required.
• Other duties as assigned

This position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in physics or engineering or related STEM field with 5 years of experience in a related engineering field such as mechanical, electrical, aerospace and/or operations   
• Requires an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time  
• Experience with Open Sim standards (Distributed Interactive Simulation, High-level Architecture, or similar)
• Proficiency with scripting (Python, C++/C, or similar)

 Preferred Qualifications:  

• Experience with Space Operational Training and Simulation
• Outstanding skills in building rapport and interfacing with external team partners
• Proactive self-starter capable of identifying gaps and problems in/with processes and proposing and implementing solutions
• Experience with complex requirement development and traceability

Primary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
