Join a team that designs, develops and integrates highly complex systems within Honeywell AERO Electronic Solutions.   Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have ownership of the development and qualification for EMI/EMC testing of a system or product. This employee will also be responsible for:

•         In depth knowledge required with ability the to train other team members on the standards and processes for FAA DO160 and DO357

•         Directing/Assisting qualification testing of systems and components in EMI laboratory facilities and working with Hardware designers, Test Equipment designers, and EMC design engineers to successfully accomplish an EMI test campaign for systems and/or components

•         Interfacing with system engineers, design engineers and the customers as required to recommend applicable EMI/EMC tests to satisfy their requirements

•         The oversight and performance of lab measurements to verify LRU, CCA, and system Signal Integrity, isolate Signal Integrity effects during debug efforts and development/recommendation of new technologies

•         This position requires understanding Electro Magnetic Interference/Compatibility (EMI/EMC) requirements and directing the preparation of formal EMI/EMC test plans, test procedures and test reports

•         Designing and/or setting up equipment to perform the tests, running the tests, analyzing results, and writing formal test reports

•         Troubleshooting failures and participate in formal failure reviews

•         Travel within the US and/or internationally may be required - 10

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization

YOU MUST HAVE

•         Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited university.

•         15+ years of experience in EMI qualification testing in a laboratory environment

•         15+ years of experience in Electromagnetic Environmental Effects standards/specifications or equivalent commercial standards

•         Experience using Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

•         Due to export control regulations, this position requires US citizenship status

•         Able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance

•         Experience following standard test processes to ensure the quality of the EMC/EMI test effort

•         Experience with equipment and process to create/edit test documents for each phase of the Qual test cycle

•         Experience in testing navigational devices

•         Responsible for troubleshooting design development and production EMI/EMC problems, training/mentoring Technicians/Jr. Engineers in EMI/EMC test processes/procedures

•         Responsible for in house EMC design verification testing as well overseeing independent test lab qualification testing

•         Working knowledge of commercial (Boeing, Airbus, aviation or other), military, or space EMI/EMC test procedures

•         Experience with EMI testing equipment, including Spectrum Analyzers, RF receivers and transmitters, antennas, RF amplifiers and antennas

•         Ability to provide estimates of EMC/EMI test work, planning and scheduling of EMI/EMC test activities, scheduling and identifying resources for each test effort

•         Familiarity with other aspects of EMC including ESD, EMP, and lightning induced transients as well as software suites for automating EMI tests

•         Ability to anticipate problems, recognize and eliminate barriers

•         Demonstrated leadership abilities and able to work with minimal direction or supervision
