Develop and optimize repair processes for plasma spray, machining and sheet metal repair, mechanical/ chemical cleaning and paint shop within the MRO Engine Shop, ensuring alignment with operational, quality standards and shop visit cost.
Provide technical expertise in machines and equipment, including plasma spray technologies and TIG welding systems, to drive efficiency and innovation.
Collaborate with Powerplant engineer to design, draft and review alternate methods for engine disassembly and assembly processes, pertaining to procedural and tool design enhancement.
Create and maintain repair traveler worksheet standard work for operation.
Perform investigation into repair processes driven engine event.
Review out-of-manual conditions and propose engineering solutions in relation to engine part repair and overhaul processes.
Draft and review tool/ fixture drawings, tool bulletin and maintain tools to latest configuration. Coordinate with engine OEM on modification and local fabrication of tools.
Provide technical assistance with the operation of high technical intensity/ complex shop equipment i.e. CMM, Vane Flow machine and Balancing machines.
Lead/ support new product introduction and perform First Article Inspection (FAI).
Lead and co-ordination for site level Process Certification.
Lead and support quality improvements activities using Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE) operating system.
Responsible for identifying and maintaining a safe workplace.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the new engineers in training.
Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Min 2 years of hands-on experience in repair process development.
Able to interpret technical data, drawings and engine manuals (SB, SPM, EM and CIR).
Good working knowledge in MS Office applications (Words, Excel, Projects, and Power Point).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Versatile worker who can work well in a team setting and independently.
Ability to think and process information in macro and micro level.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience leading troubleshooting and investigations in aero-engine repair.
Familiarity with the First Article Inspection (FAI) process.
Knowledge in tool design and/or 3D modelling.
Knowledge in statistical tool.
