Summary:

The Product Manufacturing Engineer will drive process control and dramatically improve the company’s quality and delivery signature. The Product Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for specific part or part family MRL advancement through the execution of MRL elements such as PFMEA, Control Plan & Gage R&R.

With specific parts ownership, the Product Manufacturing Engineer will drive manufacturing process improvements across multiple process steps that spans the full value stream of the parts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide focused & effective ownership in the advancement of MRL elements to drive manufacturing risk identification and mitigation to achieve superior quality performance; identify & implement process optimization & control methods to eliminate/prevent quality turn backs /escapes and reduce overall product costs.

  • As a key member of the MRL team, significant interaction with product designers, tool designers, quality assurance, process owners, operations, and other stakeholders is required

  • Use statistical analysis tools to perform root cause investigation and corrective actions on non-conforming product.

  • Drive targeted manufacturing process optimization activities through MRL tools such as Value Stream Mapping and Process Flow Diagram, PFMEA, Control Plans, Measurement Systems Analysis, Yield & Cost Curves and Qualification plan.

  • Lead significant projects critical to improve manufacturing process capability & quality performance

  • Represent the organization in various forums related to MRL execution. Develop standard work, procedures, and integrate industry-standard best practices.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 or more years experience in an engineering, manufacturing, program/project management, quality or closely related industrial environment or a Masters degree and 3 or more years experience in an engineering, manufacturing, program/project management quality or closely related industrial environment

  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in complex manufacturing activities and leading and managing a portfolio of cross functional projects

  • Demonstrated experience influencing and getting cooperation and action from others.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office computer software including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. 

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Organizational skills with project management experience

  • Statistical Process Control knowledge (DMAIC, Process Certification, UPPAP, Six Sigma)

  • ACE/CORE/ 6 Sigma Practitioner/Professional certification

  • 3+ years of relevant experience (Manufacturing Engineering, Program/Project Mgmt, Ops, Engr, Quality)

  • The discipline and follow-through to fully document problem statements, observations, conclusions, calculations, and recommendations.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
