Job Description Product Test Engineer II
Full-time onsite:
Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100 of the time.
The position is 1st shift on 4/10s Monday-Thursday.
The SEAS factory is a 60,000 square foot focus factory specializing in systems integration and test of complex electro-mechanical (Box Build) hardware in support of all branches of our armed forces. You will be working closely with an experienced team of manufacturing professionals to develop and implement test processes, detailed instructions, and electrical test equipment used in the testing of complex electro-mechanical systems and associated lower-level modules. Responsible for working with production technicians to diagnose failures and facilitate rework. Compile data and define changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, and manufacturing processes. Develop training, debug, and retest guidelines as required. Develop Preventative Maintenance Plans for test solutions.
We are looking for a strong energetic Test Engineer or Senior Technician to support our electro-mechanical box build production environment. Must be strong in digital, analog, and RF product test and have a clear understanding of test architectures and software. Must learn product functionality to independently and successfully troubleshoot product and test stand issues. This role involves a wide variety of product test activities including Test Stand Development, Transition to Production, and sustaining test stand floor support, development and maturation of test procedures, equipment maintenance plans, test failure debug and rework guidelines. In addition, this role will assist in the diagnosis of product and test stand related issues requiring the ability to troubleshoot product and test stands to module and component level. The successful candidate will provide day to day support to the manufacturing floor ensuring smooth operation of test processes and assisting test technicians as necessary. This role requires a continuous improvement mindset, and the successful candidate will be making improvements in test processes and products as necessary to improve factory yields and throughput. To do so you will be documenting failure modes, troubleshooting instructions, and rework recommendations. Requires good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with all levels and disciplines of personnel in a team-based environment. You will work closely with Process Engineering, assemblers, testers, and inspectors as well as with design engineering to solve a variety of simple to complex manufacturing and test problems.
