Production Planning Engineer
Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a Production Planning Engineer to support aircraft line and base maintenance operations at RAF Brize Norton.
This role is responsible for the pre-input planning of customer aircraft maintenance activities, ensuring all work is planned and executed in accordance with MAA regulatory requirements and Part 145 Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) standards.
Working closely with Production teams, the successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed work packs, planning maintenance inputs, and ensuring aircraft maintenance tasks are properly scheduled, resourced, and compliant with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Plan aircraft line and base maintenance inputs in accordance with MAA regulatory requirements.
Review customer work packs to ensure all tasks fall within the P145 scope of work detailed in the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE).
Build and assemble scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance work packages, including milestones, resource planning, and critical path analysis.
Create new task cards where required and identify complex maintenance tasks.
Produce equipment summary reports, including tooling, access requirements, parts, and materials.
Identify work requiring external agencies or subcontractor support.
Conduct detailed reviews of work packages, highlighting complex, safety-critical, or critical path tasks.
Check task cards for accuracy, completeness, and time estimates.
Organise and chair pre-input planning meetings with key stakeholders prior to aircraft maintenance inputs.
Provide on-site planning support to production teams throughout the maintenance process.
Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.

Essential Skills & Experience
Experience using aircraft technical documentation to plan aircraft maintenance tasks and estimate ground time.
Strong knowledge of MAA regulations and CAMO / Part 145 interface requirements.
Previous experience in aircraft maintenance planning, either within civil or military environments.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with a logical approach to task sequencing.
Ability to plan tasks with consideration for Human Factors.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with customers and stakeholders at all levels.
Experience using AMOS or similar aircraft maintenance planning systems.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Desirable Skills
Recognised aircraft engineering qualification.
Strong analytical, project management, or quantitative skills.
Knowledge of lean management principles.
Understanding of financial, commercial, and procurement processes within aircraft maintenance operations.
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
