This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.)
Responsibilities:
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning, Supply Chain, and Program Management to ensure technical requirements and quality standards, processes and procedures are met.
- Review engineering drawings, technical data packages (TDP), process changes (ECNs/CRs/CNs), work instructions, and contract requirements to identify risks or discrepancies.
- Develop, review, and present program deliverables including FAIRs (AS9102 Forms 1–3), data packages, PPAP submissions, quality reports, and customer documentation.
- Maintain SPC/Cpk performance data; conduct process capability studies, and gage R&R (MSA)
- Support MRB activities, technical disposition, and documentation review.
- Manage supplier audits, qualification activities, and compliance to AS9100, AS9102, AS9146
- Maintain accurate supplier records including audits, certifications, corrective actions (SCARs/CARs), and quality system levels.
- Support supplier selection, onboarding, and commodity management initiatives with the Sourcing team.
- Lead or support delegated source programs, supplier performance reviews, and direct-to-stock authorization activities.
- Interpret engineering drawings per ASME Y14.5 (GD&T) to determine critical/major/minor characteristics.
- Conduct internal, supplier, and customer audits per AS9100, AS9101E, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and related QMS standards.
- Support NADCAP audits and preparation of evidence books.
- Ensure documentation in TDP quality portals, supplier quality systems, and internal databases is complete and current.
- Work directly with DCMA representatives for inspection, acceptance, and final shipment processes.
- Communicate quality risks, mitigation strategies, and program health metrics.
- Write white papers
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizen with ability to pass ITAR, DFARS, and ATF background requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of Quality Engineering experience in aerospace, defense, or high-precision manufacturing.
- Strong expertise in:
- APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, SPC
- RCCA, CAPA, 8D, 5-Why
- AS9100/AS9102/AS9146 compliance
- Engineering drawing interpretation (ASME Y14.5 / GD&T)
- Proficiency with Minitab, Excel, AutoCAD or DISCUS, and MS Office.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and managing program tasks.
- Strong communication, reporting, and customer-facing presentation skills
