The position is for a Project Engineering Intern. This position is within the System Integrated Product Team (SIPT) group which is part of the Environmental and Airframe Control Systems (EACS) division of the Power and Controls Strategic Business Unit of Collins Aerospace. This role is Hybrid, but with the expectation that you will be mostly onsite. The job responsibilities will be wide ranging and will involve support for a variety of Military and Commercial programs. Specific job duties will include the following: New business proposal inputs, project schedule and budget management, support for various design and build project teams, support for various test execution programs, test procedure and report writing and more.
The successful candidate will be comfortable operating as part of team, will be self motivated and will be able to take direction and proactively execute tasks. This role is based out of Windsor Locks, CT. This role may be eligible for relocation.
What You Will Do:
- You will participate in Component level Build and Test for the next generation Collins EACS equipment.
- You will participate in System level Analysis and Testing of the next generation of Collins EACS Power and Thermal Management Systems (PTMS).
- You will help create technical proposals for new business.
- You will participate in development of new technologies.
What You Will Learn:
- You will learn about thermodynamics of complex PTMS systems.
- You will learn how to manage component and system build and test development programs (budget, schedule, test planning and execution).
- You will learn about developing new technology from idea to prototype to deliverable product.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Aerospace, Mechanical or Systems Engineering major. Possible Fluids/Thermal Engineering major.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
