We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to support our aviation operations. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with FAA, EASA, AS9100/ISO standards, QMS and company procedures by monitoring, analyzing, and improving quality systems, processes, and products. The individual will work closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement and uphold the highest standards of safety, airworthiness and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee quality assurance activities within aviation maintenance, repair, and/or manufacturing operations.
- Perform audits and reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (FAA Part 145, Part 21, AS9100, ISO 9001, etc.) and customer requirements.
- Investigate non-conformances, document findings, and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Develop and maintain quality metrics, reports, and performance dashboards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and drive process improvements.
- Support supplier quality by reviewing certifications, auditing vendors, ensuring parts/materials traceability and monitoring incoming parts.
- Lead or participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Train and mentor staff on quality procedures, standards, and best practices.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping in alignment with regulatory and customer requirements.
- Ensures inspection tools test equipment and gauges are calibrated and documented.
- Monitor tool and equipment calibration to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
- Represent the company during regulatory, customer, and third-party audits.
- Support and promote the Safety Management System (SMS) and company quality culture.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems (QMS) that comply with regulatory and customer requirements.
- Lead and participate in root cause investigations of non-conformances, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain open communication with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to proactively address quality concerns.
- Monitor supplier performance, review certifications, and implement supplier corrective actions when necessary.
- Coordinate customer and regulatory audits, serving as the primary point of contact for external stakeholders.
- Develop and track key quality performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reports to senior leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the organization to enhance compliance, efficiency, and safety.
