Magellan Aerospace Blackpool has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer (Internal Only).

• Full Time Permanent Position
• 40 hours per week
• Monday – Thursday 7:30am – 4:30pm / Friday 7:30am – 1:30pm
• Job location: Blackpool Business Park, Amy Johnson Way, Blackpool, FY4 2RP
• Unionised site – works in partnership with Unite the Union.
• This role is governed by ITAR, restrictions may apply

Responsible for all aspects of the relevant QA/QC processes. To support internal and external audits as well as liaising with external customers as required. Will provide training and development support within the team and the Division.

Essential Responsibilities

• Support the MRB process and ensure timely disposition with support form all relevant functions
• Support the internal audit programme and support both 2^nd and 3^rd Party audits/visits
• Support the Quality Manager and in producing relevant reports and the monthly business review process
• Actively support the development of the Quality Team and train the team in all aspects of Quality Management including but not limited to:
  • FAI
  • Inspection
  • CMM operation
  • Control of non-conformances
  • Calibration
  • Stamp Control
• Support the development of the structured Problem-Solving process
• Support the customer complaints management process
• Support the Supplier Management process
• Work with a minimum amount of supervision and maintain good levels of productivity
• Work in a safe manner in compliance with company Health & Safety policy. Report and log Health & Safety incidents that occur
• Any other reasonable duties as requested by management in support of the business

Skills / Knowledge Requirements

Essential Criteria:

Academic:

• Relevant inspection Quality Assurance qualifications or experience.
• 4 GCSEs or equivalent

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position within the aerospace or automotive industry sectors
• Competent in the use of measuring equipment
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and inspection reports

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience with FAIR desirable
• Internal auditor (AS9100, IS09001)
• Practical Problem Solving (A3/G8D)
• Exposure to Lean principles
• CAD/CAM experience
