Position Summary:
The Quality Engineer will utilize a wide range of knowledge and professional skills to drive Quality Engineering and Continuous Improvement initiatives and projects. The candidate will be the focal point for interfacing Quality Assurance issues with internal and external customers/suppliers ensuring compliance to the appropriate requirements including non-conformance analysis and implementation of effective countermeasures.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Be assigned to perform varying degrees of quality engineering activities and lead projects pertinent to Internal and customer quality assurance under general guidance of quality assurance management.
- Foster a “Safety 24/7” culture; driving safety initiatives to ensure zero safety related incidents annually.
- Supports organization growth of AS9100 and NADCAP processes
- AS 9100 Lead Auditor Certification
- Conduct internal/supplier audits to ensure customer requirements, regulatory agencies, government regulations, and engineering specifications are properly.
- Host client and regulatory audits, manage responses/resolution, and audit follow-up.
- Provide leadership to drive root cause analysis and ensure effective Corrective/Preventive Action plans are implemented
- Perform purchase order and contract reviews to ensure complete flow-down of requirements throughout various facets of the organization.
- Perform material review board (MRB) duties representing quality engineering
- Ensure continual compliance and improvement to the quality management system procedures and processes. (use of FMEA, 5WHY, 8D ,..etc.)
- Perform data analysis and collaborate with operations and engineering to eliminate quality issues and also improve process effectiveness and efficiency.
- Managing company calibration and understanding the metrology behind it.
- Evaluate and monitor suppliers to manage/publish supplier performance metrics, develop and lead projects to improve outsource processes.
- Willing to support on weekends as needed

Required Skills and Experience:
- 3-5 years engineering experience (e.g. Metal extrusion, CNC, CNC Mill, heat treat, etc.)
- Experience working in military or aerospace quality systems.
- Significant experience working directly with customers and suppliers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Understand internal and external customer requirements with a high attention to detail in resolving findings
- In depth understanding of the AS9100 aerospace quality standard.
- Provides statistical information and monitor results for quality improvements.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical, decision making, problem solving skills
- Process capability studies.
- Experience preparing First Article Inspection reports (AS9102).
Desired Skills:
- Project management experience
- Six Sigma, and/or ASQ Certification
- Ability to interpret GD&T.
Education/Certifications:
- S. degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Metallurgical Engineering, or related field from an Accredited Institution required.
- Lean/Six Sigma Certification preferred
- 4+ years manufacturing experience in a quality engineering field with aerospace customer
- Experience w/ ISO / AS9100 / NADCAP
Language Ability:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
- Ability to process and effectively communicate information using MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
