Able to impact operations across different areas of the site from a quality perspective and has a responsibility for planning / execution of their own tasks, orthose of other teams / team members.
The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. (N.B.: Various elements of the role will require the application of personal & technical judgment, occasionally with guidance from the QA Manager.)
Continued development of in-depth quality knowledge (and gaining associated technical knowledge of company products), linked to prior experience and acquired expertise to define / implement / execute required policies and strategies.
Baseline understanding of relevant business drivers, key performance indicators and how they assist in the validation of associated tasks or process improvements.
Able to formulate a baseline understanding of how the organisation’s product portfolio interacts with associated industry sectors and markets from a quality / business perspective.
A firm understanding of how the quality function integrates with all other departments, teams and technical functions across the site.
Perform manual and automated testing / inspection to identify defects and ensure that products meet specifications and quality standards.
Management of Non-Conformances within the relevant GE Aerospace tools / processes ensuring that corrective actions are raised to rectify issues identified during inspection activity.
Reviewing and approving Engineering production / quality plans.
Support of the Quality Management System for the site and its related processes, with participation in its ongoing development / maintenance.
Support the site QA Manager in the preparation for external quality audits and formulation of any resulting action plans.
Drive continuous improvement from a quality perspective across the Quality Management Systems and overall site operation.
Conduct Product and Process audits in accordance with AS(EN)9100 / ISO9001 standards.
Support all company efforts to ensure that products and deliverables comply with customer, company, quality, industry, and regulatory requirements.
Conduct and support root cause analysis of defects and non-conformances, recommending relevant corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
Provide training and support to other team members / site personnel on quality assurance best practices and tools
Required Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent HNC/HND) in Aerospace, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Automotive, or a related field.
Proven experience as a QA Engineer or similar role in an AS(EN)9100, IATF16949 or ISO9001 environment.
Strong knowledge of hardware and software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to propose different solutions to complex manufacturing / technical / software development / quality related scenarios.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality at all levels of site operation, product portfolio, programme and project activities.
Effective communication and collaboration skills at all organisational levels, including interaction with the business teams, technical teams, suppliers and customers.
Ability to communicate complex technical / quality information to others in a straightforward manner.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with proven interpersonal skills to facilitate leadership when required to progress activities to a viable conclusion.
Ability to provide appropriate guidance to other team members or site personnel, as part of their overall role.
Qualified Internal Auditor or with proven Auditing experience, or willing to undergo appropriate training once in post.
DQR / DPRV qualification or willing to undertake this qualification once in post.
IPC-A-610 qualification or willing to undertake this qualification once in post.
