Position Summary
Advocates and supports the Corporate WIN Strategy by managing aspects of the quality operations. Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality standards for products and processes. Provides statistical information for quality improvement by gathering data on trends and root cause analysis. Responsible to guide technical evaluation, analysis, and related data acquisition processes to ensure quality objectives are achieved.
Responsibilities
- Assesses quality performance (or cost-of-quality) using statistical and analytical methods;
- Implements various methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision, reliability and accuracy of products, processes and production equipment;
- Performs internal audits of the quality system as related to documented procedures, work instructions, TS 16949 and ISO14001;
- Implements established quality systems and procedures;
- Ensures that project and/or process control documentation is compliant with requirements and/or contract;
- Prepares reports by collecting, interpreting, analyzing and summarizing data and making recommendations;
- Analyzes proposed changes in methods and materials;
- Customer Contact;
- Performs statistical analysis to determine who is responsible and the cost associated when products or materials do not meet required quality standards and specifications;
- Applies continuous improvement and key lean manufacturing/production principles and techniques to critical areas of production;
- Supports the application of specialized quality knowledge within the production process, i.e., Production Approval Process (PPAP), Advanced Product Quality Process (APQP), and document control;
- May make quality-related customer and vendor visits and contacts as required;
- Represents company by interfacing with customers, assisting with internal and external audits;
- Manages the correct treatment of customer complaints
Qualifications
- BS Degree in engineering or related technical field (Chemistry, Biology, Industrial Science, etc.)
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a related technical field
- Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines. Intermediate Product line, industry, and/or manufacturing process knowledge.
- Advanced understanding and utilization of engineering tools, methods, processes (FMEA, process audits, Troubleshooting, etc.
- Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
