Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for a Quality Engineer to join our Quality team, where you’ll play a critical role in ensuring we consistently meet the highest standards of safety, compliance and performance across our operations. This role will be based at our Staverton site.
The Role:
As a Quality Engineer, you’ll operate with a high level of autonomy, working cross-functionally across the business and engaging with customers, suppliers and regulatory bodies. This is a hands-on, varied role where you’ll support compliance with AS9100 and UK CAA requirements while helping operational teams maintain exceptional quality standards.
You’ll be at the heart of product verification and quality assurance activities, supporting inspections and First Article Inspection Reports, while also leading investigations into non-conformance and driving effective root cause analysis. Alongside this, you’ll conduct internal and external audits, contribute to customer quality activities, and play a key role in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance performance across our operations. As part of your responsibilities, you may also act as Certifying Staff for approved products, ensuring all outputs meet the required regulatory and quality standards.
About you:
At Ontic, our culture is integral to making sure we enjoy our work and deliver for our customers. While we look for the right skillset, we’re also looking for someone who will thrive within our recognition and empowerment culture.
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring experience from an aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of AS9100 and AS9102 standards. You’ll be confident managing non-conformance processes and applying structured root cause methodologies such as 8D or 5 Whys, alongside experience in internal auditing and working closely with operational teams to drive quality improvements.
You’ll be detail-oriented and proactive, with the confidence to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation. Your ability to balance regulatory compliance with operational priorities will be key to your success. Knowledge of UK CAA Part-21G / Part-145 and major aerospace OEM standards would be advantageous.
Ontic is more than just a business, we’re a community of innovators who pride ourselves on fostering a culture where talent thrives, ideas flourish, and careers are built.
