Job Description SummaryThe advanced lead rotor design engineer will be a hardware owner responsible for turboshaft and turboprop engine hot section shafts, disks and/or seals. This responsibility will include manufacturing support work, resolution of field issues, and completing necessary changes in design. The hardware owned will include some parts manufactured on site and Lynn, and the engineer will be expected to work hand in hand with manufacturing to improve processes and address issues that arise. Additional design engineer or program management responsibilities outside of the primary rotor hardware ownership may be required.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Executes the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical engineering of rotor mechanical components
  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
  • Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small to mid-sized projects. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field.
  • Provide in-person support to manufacturing shops when addressing technical issues that occur during the manufacturing process.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • 3 years of engineering experience

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience with design engineering of turbomachinery, particularly rotating parts.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
