The Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a Radar Cross Section Electrophysics Engineer to support Low Observable design, integration, and test engineer to join the Phantom Works Special Technology Integration team in Mesa, AZ.

The successful candidate should have an extensive knowledge of EM theory & Low observable design techniques to develop new and innovative Low observable systems and components. Have a knowledge of Low observable materials and processes, Low observable design techniques and approaches, and integration of Low observable designs with other disciplines (such as structures, propulsion, and antennas). Be able to conduct design trades and optimization and perform electromagnetic analysis and modeling with the ability to apply Low Observable theory to develop new materials, components, and systems. And have experience in RCS testing and data processing.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Experienced and Senior Level Radar Cross Section Electrophysics Engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and validate requirements for various complex communication, sensor, electronic warfare and other electromagnetic systems and components

  • Develop and validate electromagnetic requirements for electricalelectronic systems, mechanical systems, interconnects and structures

  • Develop architectures to integrate complex systems and components into higher level systems and platforms

  • Perform complicated trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects and system performance and to optimize design around established requirements

  • Define and conduct critical tests of various kinds to validate performance of designs to requirements

  • Manage appropriate aspects of critical supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements

  • Provide support to products throughout their lifecycle from manufacturing to customer use by providing guidance and support to resolve complex issues

  • Support project management by providing coordinating development of work statement, budget, schedule and other required inputs and conducting appropriate reviews

  • Generate major sections of proposals to support development of new business.

  • Work under minimal direction

This position is expected to be 100 onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • Experience with electro-magnetic theory and wave propagation

  • Experience working Radar Cross Section, antenna, and/or radome analysis and design and measurement techniques

  • (Level 4): 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Typical Education/Experience: 

Experienced (Level 3)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior (Level 4)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years related work experience, Master+7 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range for (engineer, level 3): 97,750 – 132,250

Summary pay range for (senior, lead 4): 118,150 – 159,850
