SENIOR ENGINEER - MANUFACTURING METHODS
Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

Lead statistical process control (SPC) projects in order to improve production quality, safety, flow time and cycle. Define new design change and/or new production methods by ensuring the proper coordination of all the tasks to comply with the end to end facility process. Write and maintain technical specifications. Ensure that new designs are in compliance with Industrial Methods are thru collaboration and the Digital Mock-Up review process. Provide technical guidance for others.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

  • Measures interior aircraft with digital machine interfaced with CATIA V5 and analyzes the data sets to determine compliance with specifications and aircraft behavior.
  • Drives industrial methods into new engineering drawings/3D models.
  • Leads the validation of methods analysis and reports.
  • Creates technical documentation based on SPC studies to drive actions to engineering or production for improving production flow time or cycle.
  • Leads troubleshooting on the aircraft when the B.U. cannot achieve first shot installation.
  • Create tooling specifications.
  • Acts as technical specialist between engineering and production in the development/optimization of production methods and proposes new designs within the configuration management process.
  • Observes all safety procedures when performing measures and creating tooling to ensure safe operation of the people, environment and material.
  • Receives initial instructions, requirements, and advice from Team Leader.
  • Demonstrated the ability of efficient reporting to management.
  • Demonstrated the ability to challenge Engineering design and production methods.
  • Managing several projects at the same time and in efficient way.
  • Mentor employees with less experience.

NON-PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS) :

  • Performs Research and Development (R & D) work to assist in developing parts, tooling, planning, and engineering.
  • Ancillary duties as assigned by management.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • 5 years of Industrial methods activities experience or relevant experience.
  • Strong computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, and MS Project.
  • VPM, CATIA V5 (Basic design) or equivalent (Minimum 500 hrs).
  • Must have good communication skills, and be open minded to suggestions from others.
  • Strong understanding of production organization requirements & industrial approach
  • Write and maintain technical specifications and documentation.
  • Good knowledge of mechanical tolerances and Product Lifecycle Management.
  • Strong working knowledge of math and geometry and be able to work in both Metric and English units of measure.
  • Experience using measurement machines interfaced with digital CAD software for Statistical Process Control « SPC » purpose.
  • Experience with problem solving utilizing scientific methods and root cause analysis.
  • Have demonstrated creativity and mature judgments in anticipating and solving problems.
  • Proven to be a good source of technical expertise for others.

ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CNC programming skills (nesting).
  • Knowledge of composite panels (including behavior, fabrication & machining process)
  • Attention to detail/accuracy.
  • Experience writing methodology related to ME functions.
  • Aircraft experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Both normal office conditions and manufacturing environments.
  • Must be able to work long periods (8 hours) at a computer terminal.
  • Must be able to function throughout total facility, including up and down stairs and in and out of aircraft.
  • Must be able to stand, kneel or crouch.
  • Employee will be subject to normal machining environment to confer with machinist(s) and must not be allergic to machining dust, particles. Cannot be sensitive to manufacturing noise (riveting, drilling, machining, aircraft engines running, etc.)
  • Work in machining/manufacturing environment wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

The compensation for this position typically falls between $70,738.00 and $94,502.50 per year. This position is not eligible for overtime under FLSA guidelines. This position may be eligible for shift differential. Note, the final compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of relevant experience, Falcon-specific experience, relevant education/certifications, geographic location, and shift.
